Fender acoustic guitars are a great choice for any musician from beginner to pro. The Fender brand name has been at for forefront of the guitar industry for more than half a century. With that, they have built a solid reputation for build solid, quality guitars. Not only that, Fender guitars are just cool! Wether your jamming on a Stratocaster, a Telecaster, Jagmaster, Jazz bass, or a Hellcat acoustic, you will have cool covered.

Leo Fender started making guitars in the 40’s and formed the company, Fender, in ‘49 or ‘50 and started making electric guitars and basses. They had the Broadcaster, Precision Bass (or PBass), and the Stratocaster starting in 1954. They didn’t start making an acoustic guitar until 1963. It was called the King. In 1966 they renamed it the Kingman. The Kingman was discontinued in 1971.
The Shenandoah was more or less a 12 string version and was also discontinued in 1971.

1963 also saw the launch of a classical guitar which lasted until 1966. A folk version of this guitar was available for about a year in 1963 and 1964.

Fender also made some other acoustic models in the same time frame. Note all acoustics were discontinued in 1971 or earlier.

  • The Palamino guitar
  • The Newporter guitar
  • The Redondo Guitar
  • The Villager guitar
  • The Malibu guitar
  • Tarrega Classic guitars

Fender relaunched it’s acoustic line after CBS sold the company in the 1980’s. They brought back some of the old models though they were not they same. Today they offer some really cool, good looking, great quality acoustic guitars such as the Teleacoustic and Stratacoustic models. They also make 12 string acoustics as well as 4 and 5 string acoustic basses. If you need an electric/acoustic resonator guitar, they got you covered. Want an amplifier specifically built for acoustic guitar, well Fender has that too!
